Controller
I applied online and had the HR and then HM interviews. I followed up with the HM, and then there was silence. The job is posted again, but without the 'reposted' tag. The conversation with the HM was strange even during the interview; it seemed like my detailed resume was met with disbelief. I spent time responding to all the questions, and it became clear that what I had written and was saying wasn't getting through. I don't think it was a language barrier, so I can only assume it was probably implicit bias. For this reason, I let the interview go an extra 15 minutes, thinking I'd respond to more repetitive questions. But it was when I asked my final question about when to expect feedback that it all fell apart. I had to rephrase the question 3 times before I got a partial answer, and as mentioned, I was ghosted.
- Can you describe how you manage an accounting team?
- What is the size of the teams you have managed?
- Describe a time you had issues with a supervisor.
Supply Chain
The interviewers were really nice and worked around the time differences since we had people in London, Australia, Singapore, and New York. The whole interview process was smooth and they were fair in checking my experience.
- Can you share instances where you successfully negotiated?
Sales Coordinator
I interviewed 4 times in total. It started with a phone call, then I met with two people individually, after that I spoke with an account executive, and finally, I had a group interview. I did get a job offer, but unfortunately, I didn't pass the background check, so that didn't work out. The whole interview process was pretty straightforward and easy, and the people I met were really nice and pleasant to talk to. They asked some pretty basic and easy questions.
- Can you talk about your previous work experience and explain how it connects to this position and why you're a good fit?
- What is the starting salary you are looking for?
Executive Assistant
The hiring process was really quick. I applied and they reached out almost right away to schedule an interview. They were really accommodating with my availability and I ended up speaking with both the VP of HR and the President. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview. The President made me feel comfortable immediately, and even though I had offers from two other companies with better pay, I decided to go with Synergy because of how they presented their company and how well the interview went.
- Can you describe how you manage stressful situations?
