The interview process was quite straightforward. Initially, I had a phone conversation with an HR representative who then advanced me to a technical interview, which took place via Zoom. During this interview, I answered several technical questions, and things seemed to go well. I was informed that they had more candidates to interview and would contact me after completing those. The main issue leading to a negative experience was the drug test. I had to take it twice, and each time, I was vaguely told that the tamper-proof seals were compromised or something similar. After about three to four weeks of being given the runaround, I was essentially told that they couldn't hire me because they don't conduct a third drug test. This was particularly disappointing and felt unfair because I know I am clean and do not use drugs, and the problem was not on my end. I had turned down other job offers that I had put on hold because Synergistix extended an official offer and they were my first choice. To end up being rejected due to errors that were completely out of my control was a letdown.

Behavioral Technical

This role seemed like a "solid" opportunity at a company I was interested in, but the interviewer was very slow and made claims that contradicted things he couldn't possibly know. After I discussed how I founded my own company, selling self-created software and handling all business aspects with a small team, he repeatedly implied that my resume didn't show I could answer phones or use Windows. These are basic skills needed for the intermediate and advanced tasks I had already accomplished. I admit I might not have been a good fit, but his lengthy monologue about me being arrogant and not humble enough was quite amusing. He also claimed I didn't understand the job description, which I quickly disproved. It seems like a company that secured investors from the profitable medical sector but offers a barely sustainable product, explaining the negative reviews under such management. It's awkward to have to explain basic computer use to a department manager, especially when they claim you can't do fundamental tasks while looking at your resume. If they are indeed that out of touch, it's unfortunate I have to point out that hardware repair implies computer proficiency. I got the impression that because I might have been perceived as 'too smart,' the manager decided against hiring me, leading to a conversation that felt like listening to a dinosaur discuss nothing of substance. There was no test during the phone interview; the manager solely relied on his perception to conclude I lacked necessary skills or was too important for him or the company. I wouldn't recommend it because it seems impossible to get a foot in the door for a support role if you're overqualified, unless you're willing to feign ignorance and significantly slow down your thinking.

The interview started with a phone call where they asked some development questions. After that, I had a face-to-face interview. It was a group interview with 3-4 developers who asked me development questions, pretty normal stuff. They focused on .NET and SQL Server, and some open source, but most of the team dislikes open source.
