First I got an email from HR about the company and the role, asking about salary expectations and if I was interested in front-end or back-end. It took almost a month to get a reply, but then they scheduled a phone interview. It was short, about 10 minutes, and quite technical with a few people asking questions. A week later, I was told I passed and scheduled an in-person interview. This was about an hour with the hiring manager and two other team members. It focused on my background and technical skills, including some whiteboard coding. While two interviewers were nice, one was quite strange and condescending, even questioning my correct answers until his colleague confirmed them. He also seemed impatient, constantly checking his watch and cutting off my questions. Four days later, HR called to say I passed. Then came the offer negotiation, which was rough. They asked for my salary expectations again, and when I gave my total compensation, they reacted with disbelief, telling me to 'be realistic'. I then gave my base compensation, mentioning my significant stock options, which they seemed to dismiss. Later that day, they offered me 13K Euro less than my initial ask. The negotiation became a lengthy argument, with the HR person being very rude, interrupting me, trying to dictate my current earnings, and even accusing me of lying about my stock amount. The next day, I declined the offer via email, having received a better one (3K more than my initial ask, but still less than my current earnings). Their subsequent emails also had a rude tone. It's frustrating when companies don't respect initial salary expectations and waste everyone's time. I wouldn't want to work with such unprofessional HR.

The interview process consisted of three main parts. First off, there was a technical phone screen which went pretty well, lasting about an hour and involving many Java questions. Then came the in-person interviews. This part was a group interview with two developers and a manager, followed by a session with an architect, and then a director. I also had a quick chat with the CTO. The developers really dug deep with questions about Java, SQL, Oracle, XML, XSD, XSL/T, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. It was a very thorough interview, so be ready! The last step was just talking to the recruiter about salary and other details.

The interview process started with a regular phone call and a CV walk-through. Then, there were on-site meetings and a tech talk/test. They market themselves as modern and up-to-date with tech, methodologies, and quality, but honestly, they're not. They'll tell you anything to get you excited. They don't really care about their tech; it's a sales-driven company. So, if you're passionate about technology, be warned, you might not enjoy it here.
