First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Synaptics.
Digital Design Engineer
The interview process starts with a written test. If you do well on that, you'll be shortlisted for the main interview. The interview itself will test how well you understand digital electronics fundamentals and how you handle different kinds of puzzles and situations. Overall, it was a really good experience.
- Can you solve puzzles related to digital electronics?
- How would you approach a FIFO problem?
- What are your general aptitude skills?
ASIC Engineer
Started with a written test, then had 5 rounds of technical interviews. It was mostly about my past project experience. They asked questions on digital electronics, Verilog, and aptitude. The difficulty was easy to moderate. It was an onsite interview.
- Can you write Verilog code for a mux?
- Can you write Verilog code for an FSM?
- Can you write Verilog code for an encoder?
Digital Design Engineer
We did a technical assessment in pairs, then had a group interview, and then a one-on-one interview. It wasn't super thorough but was still quite challenging. The topics covered were about what components are on a SoC and the bus protocols.
