First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Symple Lending.
Software Engineer
The interview had 2 rounds: a 30-min screening call and then a round with the CTO. Both were a mix of technical and behavioral. Round 1 covered some behavioral, monolith vs. microservices, React, Node.js, and resume questions. Round 2 was a deep dive into resume-based questions.
- Some behavioral questions were asked, along with questions about monolith vs. microservices, React, and Node.js, plus resume-based questions.

Talent Acquisition Specialist
I had an onsite interview with the COO for an office tour and to meet the CEO since he was in town. When I arrived, the COO greeted me but seemed unprepared to ask questions, focusing instead on his own accomplishments. We then waited for the CEO. The HR manager visited briefly, shared her experience with a staffing agency, but didn't ask about my background. The CEO eventually appeared, seemed disoriented, made a few brief remarks, and left without asking any questions about my work history or T.A. experience, but did ask if I knew his cousin. It was a very unprofessional and odd experience, unlike any I've had in 20 years. It felt like they just needed someone to listen to their stories and weren't interested in getting to know me, which felt like a waste of time and energy, almost a scam.

Director of Training and Development
A recruiter reached out about a phone screen for a Director of Learning and Development role, and I was stoked to share my background. About 15 minutes in, the recruiter suggested my skills might be a better fit for a Facilitator position. This caught me off guard. I said I was still interested, thinking about potential growth within the company, and they set up an onsite interview. The following week, I interviewed in person with the COO and Sales Director for about 45 minutes. It went well. Since I came from a competitor, I focused on how this company could improve and talked about my past training experience. I sent a thank you email a few hours after leaving. A week passed with no word, so I sent another follow-up. It was a holiday week, so I figured people were busy. Two weeks after that, I emailed again asking for an update or feedback, but still nothing. I've officially been ghosted after an onsite that lasted nearly an hour, and after being recruited for a role they never intended to hire me for. It really shows you how they operate and their leadership. Feels like they were more interested in competitor intel than hiring, which is a shame. They wasted my valuable time and energy and didn't even have the decency to let me know. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place, don't be fooled by the office environment.
- What are the expected impacts of a successful training program at the 30, 60, and 90-day marks?
Sales Associate
The interview process starts with a quick chat with a recruiter to go over your background, why you're interested in this gig, and if you meet the basic requirements. If it seems like a good match for both sides, you'll then have one in-person meeting with a Sales Manager. This talk will be about your past sales work, how you talk to people, and if you can do well in a place where results matter. It's a pretty simple process and usually doesn't take too long.
