First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Project Manager
The interview process lasted for 2 months and included 7 interviews. It even had a panel interview and an in-person tour. I was told by two managers that I had a job and they were just figuring out the best place for me, but then they decided to go in a different direction. It sounds like a great place to work though. My advice is to make sure you have a recruiter who will advocate for you and get a clear outline of the interview steps and timeline for decisions, so you don't get left hanging.
- How do your past experiences align with the requirements of this role?
Registered Nurse
The interview was in a semi-formal setting. I met with the hiring manager and three nurses. They asked typical interview questions like about strengths, weaknesses, teamwork, and expectations.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- How do you approach teamwork?
- What are your expectations for this role?
Research Support Specialist
The director reached out via email to see when I'm free for a phone chat. It'll be about an hour long. After that, the next step is either an in-person meeting or a video call.
- Can you list the components of an informed consent?
- What's your experience with IITs?
- Could you detail your research experience over the years as shown on your CV?
Clinical Research Coordinator
So first you have a phone interview, then you go in person for a panel interview. The panel includes the medical director, executive director, and clinical research manager. They'll review your past experiences and then decide if you're suited for a clinical research coordinator role, or maybe a data coordinator or senior clinical research coordinator position instead.
- Could you summarize your past experience for us?
