First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sylvan Road Capital.
Real Estate Analyst
This was the weirdest interview I've ever experienced. I'm pretty sure the job wasn't even real. The person interviewing me didn't seem like a real employee and had no clue about the job. I followed up but never heard back. Seriously, don't bother applying.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Vendor Manager
The first part of the interview was a phone screening with a recruiter. Then, a week later, I had a zoom call with the hiring manager and the director. It was pretty laid back, and we mostly talked about my background. They mentioned the company is growing and still building out the department structure, so they need someone who can jump in and start working right away since there won't be any formal training.

Maintenance Scheduling Manager
The interview process included an initial conversation with the EVP, followed by a second interview with the COO. Communication with the recruiter was primarily via email before the first interview, and their phone manner was quite abrupt before the second. Despite feeling that both interviews went well and that I could contribute immediately, I was told by the COO that I'd receive feedback before the holidays. After sending multiple follow-up emails to the recruiter with no response, I contacted the hiring manager, but the company ultimately ghosted me. While I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt due to the holiday season, their continued silence became evident, and I eventually moved on. A simple rejection email would have sufficed; the lack of communication is unprofessional.
- Could you describe your approach to management?
QA Analyst
First, there was an initial 15 - 30 minute interview with HR to talk about employment details, salary requirements, etc. Then, a 60 - 90 minutes technical interview with the department head and team members. This technical interview was very focused on QA concepts, practices and exercises.
- In terms of measuring if a deliverable meets all requirements, what methods would you employ?
- How would you gauge if a deliverable satisfies all requirements, and what techniques could you utilize?
