The hiring process went pretty smoothly. This role is a transition from teacher to assistant director. Everyone at the Chicago location is very kind. It's definitely a good place to work because there's always something going on.

The interview was done on Zoom and took about 15 minutes. I was going for an administrative role, but they kept asking about my tutoring experience, which I had already addressed in my application. They also didn't tell me anything about the job duties, and the interview seemed rushed. They didn't ask about my qualifications either, even though an associate's degree was preferred. I got the impression they really needed to hire someone quickly, especially since they interrupted me a lot with questions not related to my work history. I'm surprised I got an interview at all, considering I wasn't what they were looking for. It felt like a waste of time for everyone, and honestly, more like an interrogation than an interview.

The interview process was quick in terms of the actual interview, but it did take a few weeks to get a response after I finished the interview. During the interview, I was asked to sell a pencil, and they also asked a lot of background questions about selling, recruiting, and number goals.

First there was a content test, then a short teaching demo, and then a 15-20 minute interview. The interview covered my ideas and experiences with education, and I was asked about hypothetical classroom scenarios. One interviewer was a tutor, and the other was the HR rep. The interview happened in a tutoring center, and other potential tutors were also being interviewed there at the same time. The teaching demo was about basic stuff, and I had about 10 minutes to get ready. They mentioned that content certifications can be done after you're hired, so don't worry if you feel like you need to review a subject. If you got hired, an offer was given right away. If not, you'd get a call a few days later.
