This was a terrible interview experience. The recruiter, Cara, was disorganized and unresponsive. I had to chase her down multiple times for updates after interviews. She scheduled my onsite interviews for a Sunday, which is a huge red flag for work-life balance, and didn't confirm the schedule with me beforehand. I didn't even see the schedule until the day of the interviews. This level of incompetence and lack of consideration is unacceptable. If this is how they recruit, I wouldn't recommend joining this company.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

This was a unique role creation opportunity, where I got to think about my career path and future. Describing my Dream Job allowed me to show my passion, strengths, and aspirations. I was surprised by their quick response, even though an immediate opening wasn't available. We started a conversation to explore potential fits. Initial chats with the recruiter, team manager, and VP clarified that this was where I wanted to be. A formal interview was then set with a seven-member board over 3 days. The entire process was really positive and felt like peer-to-peer conversations. They focused on motivation, aspirations, past experiences, expertise, skills, cultural fit, and communication. Researching industry news and the company helped a lot. It was the best interview experience I've had, with everyone prepared, engaging, and genuinely interested in getting to know me. Communication was smooth, and they were responsive to my questions. The recruiter was particularly helpful and kept me updated.

Syapse has been one of the best interview processes I have had the pleasure of experiencing. First off, their Head of Talent Acquisition is stellar. Grant is clear, concise, efficient and all the other things. He even offered an overview of exactly who I was interviewing with, their role, and the topics that they may be covering. He also scheduled a post-interview brief with me as well. Overall, its been a very comprehensive process with 2 phone screens and an onsite. Also, the entire team I met with was stellar. I have nothing bad to say about the experience as a whole, its been the best so far. Everyone seems really genuine and rallied around the same mission. From the People and Culture standpoint, its refreshing to see a company emphasizing its importance and putting action to that. I came away from the interview with a really positive view of Syapse overall. On top of that, the turn around time from my onsite to when I heard back with them was 48hrs. The only thing I wish they gave me was direct feedback on why I wasn’t chosen. I have asked for this, but no response, which is typical in this process. I also know the areas I am lacking in, but it would be nice to hear it from them.

The hiring process went pretty smoothly and was well-managed. It only took 2 weeks to get from the initial phone screen to the offer. Here's how it went down over those two weeks: First, a recruiter did the initial phone screen. Then, I had a technical phone screen with the CSO. After that, they brought me on-site for one-on-one interviews with about 10 people from different IT and engineering teams, including the hiring manager, who is the SVP of Data Insights & Security. These interviews were each about 30 to 45 minutes, with a lunch break interview mixed in. Following the on-site, I had a one-on-one phone interview with the hiring manager. Then, another one-on-one phone interview with the People Operations Manager. Finally, I received and accepted an offer.
