I had an HR interview that went very well. My application was passed on to the manager, and I was supposed to have an in-person interview. I followed up 15 days later, but the manager was on leave. I waited another 15 days, and got the same response. The job was reposted 2 months after my interview, and upon contacting HR, I was told the position had been filled internally. I would have appreciated an email at this stage indicating my application was not selected, especially since the process explained at the beginning of the interview mentioned 'feedback regardless of the interview outcome.' This lack of consideration gives a negative impression of the employer brand.

In a bright office, a candidate for Financial Controller passionately discusses financial strategies with an insurance company director. Performance charts and budget reports are spread across the table, showing rigorous analysis. The atmosphere is both serious and enthusiastic, with each person sharing their vision to optimize the company's finances.

The interview was pretty standard. We started with intros, then they asked me some usual questions about myself and my background. After that, there were some technical questions, and then I got to ask my questions. It was a bit of a surprise though, as the invite didn't mention any technical questions.

We had a 90-minute conversation with faculty representatives, the dean, and the relevant professor. I had a good rapport with the latter two, exchanging our professional orientations and backgrounds. This led to an interesting discussion about work ethic and the intrinsic motivation for the role and its associated content. We connected well, but I sensed the position's required experience was a bit beyond my current level. Five days later, I received a letter stating that I was a good fit for the workgroup and faculty both personally and qualification-wise, but the role demanded significantly more experience, especially in prior relevant work. The letter extensively referenced our in-depth interview, suggesting I keep an eye out for future opportunities.
