First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Swisher.
Office Manager
I went through five interviews for an administrative job over six weeks, talking with eight managers. They talked a lot about how great Swisher/Island Management is and how they treat employees. After the last interview, which I thought went well, I followed up after a week of no news. They told me they picked someone else, without giving any reason. For a company that cares about its reputation, I expected a call from my main interviewer to thank me and give feedback. Swisher says they value people, but their actions showed otherwise.
- What's your approach to handling confidential information?
Territory Manager
The interview process starts with a phone interview, followed by a face-to-face interview with your future boss and another supervisor. This whole thing can take up to two months, so just hang in there and it should all work out. Make sure to let them know upfront if you have any major driving tickets, as this could affect your chances of moving forward.
- Can you confirm you have a clean driving record?
- What is the status of your credit?
Account Manager
It was pretty laid back. They spoke to me like we were hanging out at a bar, probably to help me feel comfortable and show off their relaxed workplace. They asked a few basic questions, then we started chatting about personal things. I shared my past experiences and future aspirations.
- What are your goals?
Sales Representative
I had a few phone calls and then an in-person interview. It was pretty basic, mostly talking through the job description. They asked some common questions.
- What led you to discover this job opportunity?
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What makes you interested in this particular role?
