Store Manager
I was asked scenarios of situations, and I gave feedback on how I would handle them. The interview at Cozi's lasted about an hour. She asked if I was willing to work more than the required 43 hours for managers, and I said yes. She also asked if I was willing to work open to close when the store is slow, as managers are expected to be the only ones in the store during slow times. She mentioned she's had issues with the current store, like deposits not being made on time and people not opening the store.
- Are you willing to work the blackout schedule, given that there are a lot of blackout days, especially for swimwear?
- Will you ensure that the deposits are dropped off each morning?
- Can you commit to opening the store on time and establishing rules so that your associates notify you when they arrive at the store?
Store Manager
I spoke with the Area Manager for about 20 minutes over the phone. Then, I had a 40-minute interview at the store where she really sold the store to me, explaining how great they were and showing me their "quricky" blackout schedule. After that, I had a phone interview with the director of stores, though she kept missing our calls and rescheduling. It was pretty basic questions, and she also did a lot of selling of the store.
- Can you tell me about your previous job experience?
- What skills or contributions can you offer to our store?
Key Holder
I saw a hiring sign at the store and filled out an application, handing it with my resume directly to the manager. She mentioned she'd call to discuss my availability. It took about two weeks to finally get an interview. Upon arrival, I had to wait because she was busy interviewing someone else, which took a while. Eventually, I was taken to the break room to speak with the manager. She asked basic questions about my work ethic and explained the position requirements. She informed me they would conduct a background check and then follow up. This background check process took about three weeks. Finally, I received a call offering me the job. Make sure to dress nicely. NO JEANS. And don't bring anyone with you during the interview or while filling out the application, even if they wait outside.
- Can you tell me how you would assess your customer service skills?
Store Manager
I originally applied for a store manager role but wasn't selected. I reapplied and was contacted for an assistant manager position. I went through three interviews for this role. After the final interview, I completed a background check authorization, and the next day, I received an offer for the assistant store manager position.
- Were there any unexpected situational questions?
