You’ll have two interviews initially. The first is to see which partner teams you might be a good fit for. The second is with the partner team you’re potentially going to join. There might be a third interview if they think you’d be a better fit for a different team than the one you originally interviewed with.

I had a 15-minute phone interview, then a Zoom call with basic questions. The last step was an in-person interview where they talked about the job and benefits. The whole thing was pretty easy and not too stressful.

So, after getting set up by the recruiting agency SCMH uses, I met with HR and the partner I'd be working for. This is pretty standard for paralegal roles here. Your own interview really depends on the specific partner. The partner I met was super chill and easy to talk to, so the interview itself was a breeze. Oh, and a good tip: ask about their past paralegals, like, 'How many have you worked with in the last 5 years?' Their answer (or lack thereof) can tell you a lot about working with them. If they've had a lot or avoid the question, that might be a sign they're tough to work with. Always ask why the job is open, and don't be afraid to negotiate if you've got solid experience.

The process was pretty easy. I was called in and met with the HR Director and also met with the person that I would directly report to. I then came back a second time for a more in-depth conversation and received an offer call after that.
