So, first I talked to the recruiter, then there were some technical questions and live coding, and they asked background stuff too. After that, I had a 30-minute chat with an Engineering VP. Then came the take-home assessment, which took about 3 hours. I'm not a fan of subjective stuff, but it's better than live whiteboarding, I guess. They had to reschedule the next interview, the one to go over the code, like an hour before it was supposed to start, which messed up my vacation and work plans and was pretty stressful, but it ended up being okay 'cause one of the panelists was sick. The absolute worst was this interviewer in the third round, who was super condescending. You'd probably end up working with this person, and their arrogance and smugness are a huge red flag for me. They were supposed to ask these really vague, 'behavioral' questions, which just makes things more subjective. It was weird they did this with technical people, and we ended up talking about some abstract ideas about coding decks of cards instead of the actual job. I also didn't like that this interviewer didn't turn on their camera while my colleague and I did. This person was a lead and seemed inexperienced at interviewing and generally not friendly, making it hard to chill during the interview. My advice to management: get them out of the interview process, or maybe even re-interview candidates with someone else, 'cause you'll keep getting more team members like that.

I had an initial 30-minute Google Meet call with a recruiter. They kept their camera off the entire time, but I had to keep mine on. It felt very one-sided, with lots of questions and no real back-and-forth. I didn't get to introduce myself or talk much about my past work. Towards the end, I was asked to do a quick algorithm problem. I only had about a minute left for my own questions, which wasn't very helpful. I got an email two days later saying I didn't make it to the next stage, with no reason given.

The first couple interviews went well (screening and initial), they were both within a two week period. After that, things began to delay and the 3rd interview was a month later. As of now it has been 2 months since the last one and I have emailed & messaged the recruiter several times. I did receive responces stating the position is still available and apologies for the delay, but 2 months...?? Not sure if this is typical nowadays due to economy concerns, AI research or something of the sort, but either way it is dissapointing to say the least.
