It started with a 30-min call with the recruiter, which ended up going for 60 mins, but that was fine. The recruiter seemed really stoked about the company and had nothing but good things to say. Then, I had a 30-min chat with a couple of the engineers I'd be working with. They mostly asked about my technical background, past projects, and some situational stuff. I felt it went well. After a week with no news, I reached out to the recruiter. Turns out, the original recruiter left the company and they're putting the role on hold.

I interviewed for a recruiter role at SwagUp. My first interview was a casual conversation with the VP of Recruiting, Carolina. She explained the role, the goals for the company and how they were restructuring. Then I had a zoom interview with another recruiter, Meghan. It was a short zoom call, seemed very casual as well. Not many tough questions, mostly behavioral questions. After the call I had to complete an assessment. Once submitted, I never heard back from them. I’ve followed up twice and they have completely ignored me. I find this extremely unprofessional and there’s something going on within the company that allows for this type of behavior with candidates

The recruiter was direct about the job and what the company wanted, skipping the usual interview chatter. She paid attention to my background and asked tough questions. Benefits and pay expectations were clear. After her decision, she quickly moved me to the next steps. The following two interviews maintained this high standard. They encouraged me to ask questions about the role, emphasizing it's a mutual fit check. The whole process took two business days. I got an offer at my desired salary, which was great. Even without the offer, the experience was refreshing, unlike the bureaucracy at bigger companies. If you're interested, apply – you won't regret it!

I had a call with a recruiter where we went over my resume and my reasons for wanting to work at SwagUp. The recruiter mentioned that work-life balance isn't great there, with long days expected. They asked about my salary expectations, and I explained my hourly rate based on expected hours. The recruiter stated it's a salaried position, which I understood, but the conversation became difficult from there. I was hoping SwagUp would be a great company, but the recruiter's comments changed my mind.
