First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SVEF.
College and Career Specialist
The interview process involved an initial phone screen with HR, followed by an in-person meeting with the hiring manager at their office. The final stage was an in-person panel interview, also at the office, with three interviewers. Coordinating the interviews was straightforward, and all the interviewers appeared knowledgeable and well-prepared.
- How would you establish trust with families from diverse backgrounds?
Instructor
For the interview, I had to get ready with answers and analyze a given problem beforehand. Some other questions were also asked. They didn't ask much about the problem though, so I felt like I spent too much time prepping. Then there was a group interview.
- Can you tell me about your experience with diversity?
Software Engineer
Had an initial pleasant and professional phone call. Then got invited to a panel interview. First impression was that the culture felt tense and the team seemed to struggle in welcoming me. They were heads down, remained seated, and left it up to me to warm the room, which I did try to do. The experience left me questioning a few things about working there. I didn’t hear back by when they mentioned so I followed up.
- What's the reason for short tenures at some of your previous jobs?
- How could our programs be enhanced?
Intern
The interview process was very smooth. I was mainly asked about why I was interested in the role and about my previous experience teaching. The interviewer was super nice and helpful, giving me good info about the company, their own job, and what they expect from interns.
- What makes you want this position?
- Can you share about your previous teaching experience?
