Sales Development Representative
I had an initial zoom interview, then another zoom interview the next day. I talked about myself and my interest in being an SDR. I said I was very interested in doing the one week boot camp and got accepted. Got an invitation a few days later. Both people I spoke to were very nice and professional.
- What makes you think you would do well in a SDR role?
Customer Success
The hiring manager reached out to me about a customer success position. It felt like they kept setting up interviews and meetings, and I suspect they were actually looking for free consulting advice rather than intending to hire anyone. I talked with the CEO and co-founder, who came across as really arrogant and rude during the interviews. The hiring manager asked my references some really inappropriate and possibly illegal questions. Their whole recruiting process and ethics are questionable. It's pretty funny that the hiring manager is now in the role I interviewed for.
- I couldn't tell you what questions were asked because they were too focused on getting free consulting advice.
Business Development Fellow
I applied online and about 3 days later, I was sent some surveys about my personality and professional background. Around 10 days after that, I got an invitation for a 1-way video interview where I had to answer questions. I completed that within 6 days. Then, 4 days after finishing the video interview, I was invited to the final interview. The interview actually stopped right when they figured out I didn't have a degree, even though I had made it through all the other stages.
- Can you explain your interest in technical sales?
- What exactly is business development?
Business Development Representative
You start by filling out an online application. If they like what they see, they send you a more detailed application to fill out, where you can talk about your past experience and why you want this fellowship. A few days later, the recruiting manager will set up a Zoom call, lasting no more than 30 minutes. After that, there are personality tests, including MBTI, and a second interview with a co-founder. I didn't make it past the personality tests.
- In what ways will this fellowship contribute to your career aspirations?
