Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Suzano.
Intern
There are a few stages, and even though it's done by a third-party company, the stages are similar. There's a group dynamic where we usually have to solve a company challenge or propose solutions to reach a specific goal. After that, there's an interview with the managers. It's good to know the company's values and goals and try to align them with yourself, as well as being a protagonist without invalidating other candidates during the dynamic.
- Why Suzano and how do you think it can help your development?
Intern
After the application and project proposal submission phase, the next step is a group dynamic. If you pass that, you'll have an interview with the manager (your future boss). The dynamic is the worst part of the process. I was in a room with 10 people and we had to develop the project from the application phase in 45 minutes. It was chaos and no one agreed, some had really clueless ideas. I think the time and the number of people was the hardest part, but I made it to the interview with the manager.
- Which area do you intend to work in when you graduate?
- Who do you live with?
Technical Intern
The interview process was very beneficial, providing me with more experience and opening new perspectives in the area I applied for. A point for improvement regarding the interview process is that it could have been more objective from the job posting onwards. In the final stage, requirements not initially mentioned in the job description were requested, which caused disruption for me and other candidates. For instance, in the final stage, courses like Microsoft Office and prior experience were requested. I believe if these had been stated in the job ad, the selection would have been more positive for the company, as it would have filtered in only those who truly fit the role. Another point is that this is a technical internship program, yet the area coordinator sought candidates with experience. I believe an internship is a way for an employee to gain experience; otherwise, the selection process wouldn't need to be for an internship. Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated and met the great Suzano team, but I offer this as a point of caution. Gratefully! Sincerely, RIAN MOREIRA DANIELLI
