Associate Account Executive
I got referred by someone. I did five interviews on Zoom, each about half an hour, from late December to late January. First, one with HR, then three with team leaders, and finally one with the VP of sales for a Senior Account Executive role. I didn't get that one, but the VP suggested an Associate AE job, which I was happy about and didn't think was a step down, actually felt more suited for it. After talking to the team lead for that role, they decided against me because I didn't have industry experience in SaaS. The interviews were polite and felt like conversations. They kept asking for my feedback on the process, which was nice. Follow-ups were quick and polite until I got the rejection email a few days after my last interview. My main issue is they put me through five interviews only to reject me for a reason they could have seen on my resume earlier. It felt like even though they tried to find a spot for me, companies in tech like Momentive still doubt if people from outside their industry can learn SaaS or whatever software they make.

Account Executive
So first there was a recruiter phone screen, then the hiring manager called. After that, I had an on-site interview. It was with four people from the team, including some team leads, another AE, and someone from sales enablement. The on-site involved a presentation I gave about a product I really like, followed by a Q&A. The rest of the time was spent doing one-on-one chats with each of those associates.
- How do you handle situations where you're having an active sales discussion with a prospect, but you're unable to reach them?
- What is your strategy when a prospect you are actively discussing sales with becomes unresponsive?
Account Executive
Had two parts of a three stage interview with this company. It was a really weird approach and handled terribly. The first screener was okay, we talked about my approach and the role, and the sales manager said I was a good fit to move on. That round went great, got positive feedback, and the manager gave me a thumbs up. Then I heard nothing for almost 3 weeks, and finally got told I wasn't a good fit. I asked the first recruiter for feedback by email but never got a reply. For a company that talks a lot about culture, it really didn't live up to what I thought of the business. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't get progressed if they couldn't even give me feedback after a really good interview.
- How do you approach your targets and achieve them?
- Can you describe your strategy for meeting sales quotas?
