I went through two interviews, first a recruiter chat, then a chat with the CFO. The interviews went well, but after I sent a follow-up email, they just disappeared without any reply. It was like the job wasn't real, or perhaps they stopped hiring for it.

I applied online and a recruiter reached out to see about interviews with managers and directors. After two rounds, I got an offer. But, the job posting didn't have a salary range, and the recruiter didn't ask about my expectations. I figured it would be in line with Glassdoor, but the offer was 15% below market and even lower than current employee reports. It was less than my current salary, even though it was a title advancement. I tried to negotiate, but they wouldn't budge, so I declined. ALWAYS ASK FOR SALARY FIRST.

There were several openings, and the office manager took the time to thoroughly explain each one. They reviewed my resume and seemed curious about my potential shift away from my "licensed" profession. I emphasized that I have a Type A personality, am more than an average team player, and am the kind of person who gets things done right the first time.
