It was a pretty straightforward interview process with two rounds. The first round was with a manager currently in the same role. Then, there was a group interview with both the lead manager and the VP. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I got a quick response, which was great.

My friend referred me for the Flight Concierge position at Surf Air's San Carlos location. When I got there for my on-site interview, no one knew I was supposed to be there. After waiting 20 minutes in the lounge, I was taken to a room with a regional manager and a team lead. We had a 45-minute interview where they asked about my career, strengths, weaknesses, and career goals and how Surf Air fits in. There was no follow-up, so I emailed them after two weeks. An executive assistant from their Santa Monica office called to set up a phone interview with the CFO. On the day of the interview, the assistant called 10 minutes before to say the CFO was running late. The CFO called me at 11:23am for what was supposed to be an 11:00-11:30 interview, and it only lasted 7 minutes. After that, I waited and waited with zero communication. I never got an offer or a rejection. My friend told me a few weeks later they hired someone else. The whole recruiting process was unprofessional, disorganized, disrespectful, outrageous, and unacceptable. For an airline that claims to offer world-class customer service, their candidate experience is really lacking. They need to improve their recruiting process.

The whole experience felt really good. After one phone screening and then interviews with the Director and the regional Lead, all three people seemed really positive. I thought I was definitely the top candidate. They told me three times that the next step was with HR, but then I got an email saying they weren't interested in me and what I could bring to the company. All that positivity made the rejection email really disappointing and feel like I was misled.

I had a phone interview with the hiring manager and an HR staffer together. The interview was professional and seemed to go well. Weeks have gone by and not even an update or a note saying they are not interested despite sending two inquiries. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially considering that this is a company that is all about service to high-end customers. I somehow doubt they would leave someone hanging like this if they were interested in a membership, but who knows.
