Manager
The process has become streamlined and less intense as previous years. Less interviews overall than in the past. Connecting and building rapport with the hiring manager goes a long way for any position. Make sure to send a thank you note.
- What skills would you bring to enhance the team overall?
BI Developer
First off, there's an easy intro screening where they check your background, experience, and communication. Make sure you have a 2-3 minute self-intro ready and know the basics about the company and the role. Then, a technical round focusing on product owner stuff like backlog management, user stories, Agile, and managing stakeholders, plus the FCRM domain. Expect questions about tricky situations like when priorities clash. Also, brush up on compliance and financial crime risk knowledge. Finally, a meet and greet to check culture fit, how you collaborate, and your leadership style. Be friendly, show you fit the company values, and ask some solid questions. They just wanna see if you're easy to work with.
- Tell me about your knowledge of different databases and BI tools you've used.
Information Security Testing Analyst
I went through two rounds of interviews where I spoke with an HR person and then the team. Everyone was really nice and upfront about what it's like to work at Surescripts. The HR person was really in my corner from the beginning and even suggested I ask for more money than I was planning to. They also gave me pointers on what to expect in the next interview. My interviewers shared some extra learning materials for me to check out after the interview. I felt super welcome by everyone on the team.
- Tell me about any projects you've done outside of your coursework.
Account Manager
First, there was a phone call with the recruiter. Then, I went in person for back-to-back interviews with the hiring manager and some peers. Each of those interviews were 30 minutes. The interview process itself went okay; I don't think I did amazingly, but I certainly didn't mess it up. However, I never heard back from the company about the results. After the expected timeline passed without any word, I reached out to the recruiter to ask for an update, but they didn't reply. It was really disappointing to not even get a rejection email. Sending a quick note isn't that difficult, especially after I followed up, and it left me with a negative impression of the company.
- Can you share an example of a situation when...?
