First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SureCam.
Director of Sales
The process started with a phone screen with an investor from the PE firm that owns the company. After that, there was an interview with the CRO, who travels to St. Louis from the West Coast. The in-person interview and a final meeting with the CEO were additional rounds. The compensation for this role is that of a front-line manager, but they are advertising it as a Director position. There's no commission guaranteed unless 100% of the goal is met. It seems like they don't expect anyone to succeed. Significant red flags in their hiring process; the last person only stayed for 3 weeks, and the person before that hadn't met sales targets in two years. It's strange, but they must have missed out on their other candidate because they reposted the job. I was informed they plan to interview as many candidates as possible, so move fast.
- What are your general sales leadership capabilities?
- How do you approach managing remote teams?
- Can you elaborate on the sales compensation and commission structure?
Sales Development Lead
This was a thorough and long interview process, with a lot of really good questions. It included sales assessment exams, one-on-one meetings, and phone interviews. There were months of negotiating involved. We had theoretical sales discussions and process development discussions, and they also assessed my software skills. Overall, they want the best people, which is why it took so long for this to develop into an offer so that both parties benefited greatly from the decision.
- What are your objectives for this role?
Sales Director
The whole process took less than two weeks, which was a great experience overall. The office in St.Louis was nice and I got to meet the sales team. The product could use some improvements but they seem to be on the right track. I made it to the last round but didn't get the job.
- Would you listen to three phone calls and give your feedback?
