The interview process felt pretty professional and organized. Scheduling was communicated well, and the interviewers seemed to know their stuff about the role and were nice. We mostly talked about experience, technical background, and situation-based examples, which seemed fitting. However, sometimes I wasn't totally clear on the role's expectations or what would happen next. It would have been good to know more about the scope, how decisions are made, and what success looks like earlier on. It was a respectful chat, and I liked talking to the team. If they could be a bit clearer and more consistent with communication, it would be an even better experience for candidates.

The interview process was quick and easy, I actually enjoyed that process, however the lack of integrity and professionalism exhibited after an offer was extended was shocking. Superior Skilled Trades made me a formal offer on Tuesday, I asked until the end of the week to review the paperwork and make a decision. they seemed okay with that. I called Friday morning and verbally accepted the position. SST at this time offered to send me a documents I could electronically sign which was much appreciated. I am currently working so I was not able to check my personal phone and email for most of the day on Friday, but close to the end of my day I see a missed call from a few hours earlier and a text sent shortly after that said "i've rescinded the offer, thx." This company lacks integrity, because I didn't send them documents while on the clock at my current employer they rescind the offer like a petulant child taking their ball and going home. This is even more deeply frustrating because I canceled other interviews and even let my boss know my resignation was coming. Now I have lost out on other opportunities and may have even jeopardized my current employment all because they didn't get a call back while I was working on someone else's time.

I sent in my resume and heard back about two weeks later via email to schedule a phone interview. The CEO did the phone interview, which was short, about 15 minutes. Then, I had an in-person interview with both the CEO and the Director of Operations that was longer, around 35-45 minutes. The interview experience felt good overall, although one question about my sense of humor on a scale of 1-10 caught me off guard and made me question the office dynamics. It was an easy interview, though. After the interview, the Director of Operations gave me positive feedback and mentioned they were planning to extend an offer by the end of the week and would be in touch. Unfortunately, I never got that call or email, so I emailed them a week later. Their reply was brief, 'I’m sorry I’m just now replying to your email, I’ve been busy,' but they said I'd get an update soon. I never heard back again, which I think is poor professional conduct, but it was probably for the best. I really need to emphasize that work-life balance is non-existent here; they make that clear in a very blunt and direct way. You're expected to work standard office hours (9-5) but also be available for calls and emails after work, in the evenings, and on weekends. If you value uninterrupted personal time with family, this is not the role for you. It wasn't the right fit for me, and I didn't see that at first because I was too focused on getting a new job and didn't fully consider how important a strict 8-hour workday, 5-day work week, and spending time with loved ones is to me.
