First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sunwest Bank.
Human Capital
It was an easy three-step interview. First, a recruiter screened me, then I met the hiring manager. If I passed that, the third round involved meeting 4-5 different employees who shared their experiences at Sunwest Bank.
- What is your understanding of this company?
Operations
You'll start with a phone screening, then move on to an in-person interview with multiple people, followed by another round. Usually, if you make it to the second in-person, the job is yours. They have a policy where everyone who interviews you has to agree to give you the job.
- How do you handle doing multiple things at once?
- What's your approach to learning new things?
Real Estate Lending
I met with a couple of high-ranking people to get acquainted with the environment and staff, and for them to get a better sense of me. The group included the CEO, CFO, EVPs, CCO, relationship managers, and analysts. Everyone asked a few casual questions about how I might be involved in their specific jobs. There weren't any hard analytical or technical questions, it was mostly behavioral and common sense stuff.
- What's the most significant skill you could contribute to our company?
Business Systems Analyst
it was a long and laborious process, taking 6 weeks from the first interview until I got the final job offer. I had to proactively call and follow-up because I knew they were interested, but I felt I needed to push the process along. Their internal job process isn't really set up to fill positions quickly. The interview itself was professional and friendly though.
- The interview covered standard questions.
