First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sunward Steel Buildings.
Sales
Started with two phone chats, one with the HR director and another with the owner. Then, had an in-office interview. The in-office part included the Head of Operations from Jamestown, an office manager, another sales rep, and an owner who came in from the Denver headquarters.
- Can you discuss your sales background and experience with client relationships?
- What is your understanding of the company's history and its products?
- Do you have any questions regarding basic manufacturing processes at Sunward?
Call Center Manager
The interview process was quite unusual. I wasn't greeted by the person who led us, they just walked past the group and mumbled 'Follow me.' When we got to the interview room, it turned out to be a group interview, which the recruiter never mentioned. Three people were late, one 20 minutes late, and they were allowed to join. The owner, an older guy, said he doesn't look at resumes, even though the recruiter told me to bring copies. He also didn't look at our applications. He was condescending to the women, suggesting one might be better suited for admin work like a receptionist, and told her directly, 'I'm not interested in you.' He also interrupted everyone frequently. After about 5-6 basic questions, he told us to write on the back of the application if we were still interested and then dismissed us. The whole thing, with six of us, took about 30 minutes. He didn't try to get to know us or assess our qualifications.
- Could you please state just your first name?
- Which position are you applying for?
- Are you presently working?
Digital Marketing Manager
I spoke with Mr. Wirth, Cara Wirth & Amy Wirth. The interview was relaxed and professional. They asked great questions about my background and my work history. The people were personable and friendly, and they really listened and seemed to care about who I am.
- In what ways can your skills assist our company in adapting to current market trends?
Associate
The interview process was pretty standard. The interviewer was nice. It's important to prep beforehand and be on time, as the interviewer was prompt.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
