First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis.
Senior Copywriter
I talked to HR, the Creative Director, the Creative VP, and a Partner before getting an offer. Each chat was about half an hour. They asked pretty basic, straightforward stuff. It moved surprisingly fast, even with four people.
- Can you discuss the copy style of a brand you admire and explain your reasoning?
Junior Assistant
The interview process had 4 stages. Stage 1 was an introduction. Stage 2 involved meeting the director of your sector. Stage 3 was a writing assessment where you had to write a press release, a pitch, and identify your target audience for the pitch. Stage 4 was an interview with the CEO.
- How resilient are you, rated on a scale of 1 to 10?
Account Manager
It was a pretty easy and personable interview process, not stuffy at all. I started by meeting with a partner to discuss my experience. Then, I was introduced to the manager of the team I was interviewing for, and we talked about similar experiences. They did give me an assignment, which I found somewhat fun and not difficult.
- Can you provide an overview of your career experience to date?
Interviewer
The interviewer seemed completely checked out and wasn't even listening from the start. I'd also suggest looking into the company's history before applying, as they've been involved in some scandals and worked with questionable clients.
- Can you walk me through your background and relevant experience?
