First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sunriver Resort.
Conventions and Catering Manager
I went through two interviews on Teams. The first was with the manager and a senior staff member, and the second was with the head of HR. Scheduling was easy because the hiring manager was really quick to respond. I thought the first interview went really well; the team seemed great, supportive, and like a place I'd want to work. The second interview felt more like a casual chat with the HR head. It was okay, but some things came up that made me feel uneasy, and after thinking about it, I decided to pull out of the running. Someone from the team reached out afterward, maybe to talk things through, but they never actually called.
- Tell me about your interests outside of your professional life.
Marketing Coordinator
I had a relaxed interview with a team that seemed really good. After an email, I scheduled an interview with the Marketing Manager, and it was a very natural conversation. I decided to end it after the first interview because the compensation was too low.
- Which aspect of marketing do you like the most?
Marina Aide
It was a simple and quick interview process. I first talked with someone who asked about my top three job preferences to see if I would be a good fit. Then, the Marina manager and I decided my best fit would be the Marina Aide position. The interview was held in a large room with other candidates present, making it feel more casual.
- What superpower would you choose to have?
Banquet Server
My interview was at the resort's Job Fair for summer employees. I got there early and they started processing me right away. I was put in a big conference room with lots of tables and given an application, and I had to pick just two positions to apply for. After I finished the paperwork, I went to another room with chairs to wait for my name to be called. I only waited about 20 minutes, but my fiance waited over two hours even though we got there at the same time. When they called me, I was taken to another big room with tables around the edges for the different departments that were hiring. I was sent to the right table(s) for what I wanted, where 1-3 managers were waiting to interview me. The interviews were really quick and basic, no strange questions like "What kind of tree would you be?" A week later, I got a call around 8pm for a surprise phone interview that lasted about 45 minutes! It was pretty detailed, especially for a server job. Four days later, I got the job offer, even though I had no serving experience at all!
- What are your expectations from management?
- Can you tell me about your greatest weakness and how you've worked on it?
