First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SUNRISE FUTURES.
Quantitative Analyst
I submitted my application online and heard back from a recruiter about a week later to set up two technical interviews. The second interview was contingent on passing the first. Even though I felt both interviews went well, I received a generic rejection email the following week. I was bummed, especially since I thought I warranted a personalized response after two interviews, but it was a template rejection with no feedback. Reaching out for feedback yielded no response.
- Questions about C++
- Questions about probability
Quantitative Researcher
The interviewer was super rude and impolite, like they were against me the whole time. They started with an easy coding question, which I solved fast. The interviewer sarcastically said, 'Oh you obviously prepared for that.' Then came a few basic probability questions. I usually think out loud, but they cut me off rudely, saying, 'you do not need to think out loud, just tell me the answer and that's all I care.' When I asked for clarification, they said, 'come on, you're a statistician.' Seriously the rudest interviewer I've ever met. Got rejected two weeks later, but honestly, I didn't want to work there anyway. Good thing I already got offers from companies I like better.
- Can you merge two sorted arrays?
- A basic probability question.
Quantitative Researcher
I applied through department, and then they set up an interview on campus. One senior quant researcher conducted the interview, and he was very nice. After 3 questions, he also answered some questions of myself.
- What is a virtual function in C++?
- For a fair coin, if HH or TT wins, what is the chance of winning?
