The interview process was pretty standard. Scheduling was handled nicely by their staff. I was greeted politely when I arrived. The interview itself was a one-on-one with the hiring manager for the department. We both kind of got the vibe that I wasn't the perfect fit, but it was all handled professionally and I didn't feel rushed. They introduced me to a few people on my way out. Everything seemed to suggest a good company culture.

It was a pretty thorough process for a smaller company. I was actually moving into this role from another position within the company, which was a bit junior for my experience level, and things were going through some internal changes at the time.

The job posting looked great and really matched my background. I was excited to get a response and set up a phone interview. But, the actual call with the HR person was awful. She was totally checked out, looking at her phone while we talked – she even told me about a text she got during our call. Her questions felt rehearsed, and she'd just say 'uh huh, yeah, great' to my answers. It felt like she didn't respect my time or even want to hire anyone. The company's website makes it seem like a cool place to work, but this person, who should be promoting it, didn't convey that at all. Near the end, she asked if I had questions but said she had another meeting and could only spare about 60 seconds.
