They called and set up an interview and then sent a confirmation email with the date and time. On interview day, they called exactly on time, introduced themself again, and then described the job, requirements, and pay. They asked if I thought it was a good fit and then started asking questions. At the end, they said they'd pass my info to management and would contact me if they thought I was a good fit.

Sun Communities has an in-house recruiting staff and also requires candidates to fill out an application on their careers site. I was first told a phone interview was scheduled and I confirmed the date and time. The recruiter seemed to be sticking to a script with standard questions, and it didn't feel like a very welcoming start to the company. The next step was a second phone interview with the Regional VP of Sales, which was professional and friendly. After finishing these interviews, my application status updated to 'being considered.' The entire process seems to drag on quite a bit. My suggestion to the employer would be to speed things up, as good candidates often have other offers and the long wait might cause them to lose out on someone qualified.

  • Describe a time you had to handle an unhappy customer.
  • What improvements or new processes did you put in place to make things run better?

The first interview was a phone call and it went pretty well. Then I had an in-person interview where they said I'd get a homework assignment to decide on hiring me. I never got the assignment and then they told me I didn't get the job. After that, I had two more in-person interviews, but I didn't get an offer in the end. All four interviewers kept talking about how great the on-site gym was.
