I had two initial phone screens with senior sales management at HQ where they asked general questions about my CV and experience. Then I had a semi-formal, face-to-face interview with the Head of Worldwide Sales, discussing my background and any challenges I might face to see if I was serious. Finally, I did a presentation and role-play via Webex to the Sumo management team, presenting and pitching Sumo, followed by general questions. I got the offer right after the Webex.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

You'll talk to the hiring manager, the VP of Sales, some Sales Reps, and the CEO. This team is really selective, so it's a thorough process. They're a SaaS company and will want to know your experience in this area. Expect questions about your philosophy on sales management, account management, and your sales process. If you're already a field sales person, this should be pretty straightforward. Just be yourself. Be ready to work hard – this isn't a role where things are handed to you. These are net new logos, so expect to put in at least 20 hours per week on prospecting on top of what the inside reps and BDRs do.

Behavioral Presentation

This was a super fast and efficient interview process. Started with a 20 min recruiter call where they gave me info about the company. Then a 30 min chat with a hiring manager to see if I was a good fit culturally and for experience. After that, there were 3 separate 30 min 1-on-1 interviews on-site with a CSM, an SE, and another hiring manager. They explained the role and company culture well. The last part was a 30 min presentation to the Director and VP of Global Sales over GoToMeeting, followed by a 15 min Q&A. I got a verbal offer 4 hours after that, and the final offer the next morning.
