The interview process was smooth, professional, and quick, even with the holidays. The team made sure to understand my background, genuinely wanted to know what I was looking for, and clearly explained their expectations. It felt respectful and straightforward.

I reached out to Sumo because I was really interested in their sales team, but man, their internal communication was a mess. It took forever, like 3 months, to finish. The senior recruiter was late a lot, missed our first call because of time zones and didn't even apologize. Getting updates on next steps was also super slow. I did get to the final round and liked talking to the sales manager and CRO, but then things got delayed again because of an office move and QBRs. They ended up not hiring me, and it felt like they didn't know what they wanted until after we talked. They said they wanted someone with DevOps sales experience, which is fine, but they wasted my time completely. I had two initial phone interviews, an in-office presentation, three 1-on-1s, calls with another sales manager, and a video call with the CRO. It was exhausting. My advice to sales leaders is to figure out your territories and headcount first, then post the job, especially if you're moving offices. At the end, they told me they weren't offering me the job and were just going to keep interviewing. Luckily, I got another offer that same week. So, heads up to candidates, think twice before applying, and Sumo, you really need to plan better. You were disrespectful, and I'd be embarrassed to be part of that hiring process.

This recruiter reached out to me multiple times over two years for positions at Sumo. I agreed to interview. Then, the communication was spotty or non-existent, with excuses like sending an invite to the wrong email. After hearing nothing, I'd get an automated email saying they hired someone else. They really wasted my time.
