It was pretty straightforward. Just one interview, and they asked the usual stuff most places ask. Just look up typical interview questions and check out the company website a bit. I got an offer before I even left the place.

So, the first time I interviewed for this, it was a phone interview that seemed to go well. They then asked me to listen to a bunch of stations and write up a report on them with my thoughts. I sent that in, and they said they'd get back to me in a week or two, but then... nothing. No calls, no emails, just ghosted. A couple years later, I interviewed with a different exec, and it was the same deal: listen to the station, write a review. Again, radio silence. Then, I saw an ad for a third station, but apparently, they'd already announced they'd filled the position. Still, I got an email to fill out a questionnaire to move forward with the process for a job that was already filled. And guess what? Never heard back from that one either.

The interview process was easy and professional. Having interest in the field already, it made the experience less uncomfortable and allowed me to showcase myself. Sometimes you don’t get lucky to have a casual environment like that so for a college person it’s a great first step.

Saw an ad on the radio for salespeople, so I called the hiring manager. I got an interview with the Sales Manager for that station. I wore a suit and tie. The interview was about 45 minutes and they asked typical hiring questions. I got a call back with an offer within a week.
