Attorney
I went to their office for an interview with some of the partners. It was a few hours long. They were nice and professional.
- Why did you choose to pursue patent law?
New Applications Specialist
I was given an assessment test that took about 30-40 minutes. Then I had an interview with the HR Director and the hiring manager. They asked me a bunch of questions about my experience, some situational questions, and when I could start. They also told me about the benefits and other firm details.
- Can you describe a typical day in your current role?
Legal Secretary
It was super casual and everyone was really nice. Two people interviewed me, the HR manager and the Secretary Manager. The Secretary Manager went right into what the daily tasks of the job would be like, including the six months of training in the overflow room and the technology I'd learn. I asked about the qualities of their ideal secretary, and she said someone who is naturally meticulous, pays close attention to detail, doesn't gossip, and professionally supports colleagues.
- Are you prepared for a demanding, fast-paced workload?
New Applications
About 2-3 weeks after I sent my resume, I was offered to interview. The interview itself was about 20 minutes. I got an offer the following week, and was set to start a month later.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What about this company sparks your interest?
- What makes you believe you'd be a good fit for this role?
