First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sugaring NYC.
Front Desk Receptionist
It was super easy, they just asked me common questions about my past customer experience, who I am, and what I bring to the table. They really stressed the sales part, wanting someone who's good with people and can boost sales for services and products.
- What is your definition of good customer service, and how do you manage challenging customers?
- What defines good customer service for you, and how do you deal with customers who are difficult?
Sugarista
The interview was great and a very easy process. The first part of the interview was online, which allows one to be in a comfortable environment, and the second one was in person.
- What is your reason for leaving your current job?
Receptionist
Had one meeting and was sent to work the same day immediately after, with one day of training. They asked basic interview questions, like tell me about yourself, what I like to do for fun, am I in school, am I currently employed and what is my availability, mostly focusing on availability.
- What is your availability?
- What is your availability?
Human Resources Manager
This was an open call interview, with many candidates present, more than the seating available. I waited about forty-five minutes past my scheduled time. When I was called in, I met with two women, and a third woman whose position wasn't stated. I was asked standard interview questions and thanked for my extensive salon experience, although my most recent, least relevant job was discussed instead. I was asked about my interest in another managerial position with an unstated compensation, which I knew paid significantly less. The interview concluded with the statement that the Human Resources Manager position was filled, and I was asked again about the other, lower-paying role, for which I was overqualified. I felt the interview was misleading, as I was interviewed for a position I hadn't applied for, was uninterested in, and paid less.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Would you also be interested in another managerial position that is available?
