Fundraising Manager
I went through a long interview process for a senior role in the advancement office - three rounds of in-person interviews including a group interview with potential reports. What was disheartening was that after all of that effort, Suffolk University did not have the courtesy to let me know that I was not selected for the position - not even a form email. Ghosting is unprofessional and unbecoming, especially in a people-focused area such as development. Not impressed.

Administrator
Being an administrator in the Division has been a really good experience, with chances to really help students with their studies and lives. This job means working with other departments to make programs that help keep students here, support students from different backgrounds, and help them grow overall. We work on new advising systems and put on workshops about getting ready for careers, all to help students get past problems and succeed. Seeing them develop and being able to celebrate what they achieve makes this job feel very worthwhile and important for the school.

Manager
In total there were 5 interview rounds. It began with a phone screening from HR. Then there was an in-person meeting with upper management. Following that, a 3-hour in-person interview occurred in a boardroom with 5 people from the Department. After that, another phone interview with the Department where more questions were asked. The process concluded with a final phone interview with HR. The whole thing took 2 months. When I accepted the offer, HR asked me to hold off on starting until the new year, so I'd onboard January 1st, which made the process longer.

Talent Acquisition Coordinator
I applied online and had to do a recorded interview. A few days later, I was invited to a Zoom interview. About halfway through, the interviewer took a 15-minute phone call, saying it was important but her excuse about her boss calling about a payroll meeting seemed a bit off. She mentioned she'd be on vacation for a week and would update me afterward. On Thursday, I got an email saying I was moving on and needed to provide 4 references. My references were contacted about a week and a half after that. I followed up via email asking for an update so I could let my references know what was going on. A few days after that, I received an email saying they had chosen another candidate. This was quite unprofessional, especially the interruption, the request for references before an offer, and the lack of timely communication.
