First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Suddath Companies.
Project Manager
I showed up to a locked building and had to call the interviewer to be let in. The interview itself was okay. At the end, they said they'd let me know by the end of the week. When the week ended and I hadn't heard back, I followed up via email on Monday, but got no response. While it's clear I didn't get the job, a simple update would have been appreciated.
- Are you comfortable managing large, dynamic projects?
Marketing Insights Manager
The process included a screening call, then an interview, and finally another interview. There were long delays between each round, even though I was told they would follow up. It was frustrating to wait over a month to hear back after the first round about moving forward.
- Can you tell me about any customer service programs you are familiar with?
Marketing
I was reached out to by the company after putting my resume on Monster.com. I had three interviews with the recruiter, my direct manager, and some of my potential coworkers. About a month after they first reached out, the recruiter contacted me again to let me know they were going to keep searching for someone with more experience in their specific industry. The whole interview process took a lot of time, and I had to sneak away from work three separate times. While I understand they need to find the right candidate, they should really speed up the process.
- How would you approach a situation where you need to get buy-in from another department for an initiative they don't agree with?
Programmer
I applied on Monster.com and about 2 weeks later, HR emailed me to set up a phone screen. The recruiter missed our scheduled call, so she emailed the next day to reschedule. I didn't respond, but she called at the new time anyway, asked about my background, and set up an interview for the following week. I interviewed the next Thursday with the App Dev Manager and her boss. They didn't have my resume and only one had questions prepared. The questions weren't technical, focusing more on drive and personality, which makes sense for a junior role. They said I'd hear back soon and seemed to like me. I got an offer a week later, higher than the recruiter mentioned, and accepted.
