First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at STUDS.
Store Manager
First I spoke with a recruiter, then I had 3 more interviews with different managers. They were really upfront about what the store needed and made sure I understood my role and responsibilities.
- Could you give an example of weekly KPIs and explain how you'd interpret them and what you'd adjust to boost revenue?
Planning Manager
I applied online and was contacted the next day by the hiring manager for availability. I provided it but only got a calendar invite the day before the interview, which was for a 20-minute phone screen. It ended up being a 1-hour virtual interview. We talked about the retail world and aspects of the role beyond what was on my resume. They asked about my current employer, which caught me off guard. They explained the next steps, including a case study for the following week. After 9 days of no word, I followed up. Two weeks later, I got a rejection email. The interview had issues with scheduling and lack of clear HR contact.
- How do you approach problem-solving?
- What aspects of your current job do you find appealing, and what do you dislike?
- What is one thing you would alter about your current role?
Brand Marketing Manager
It was a phone screen and then I spoke with three different team members. The whole process was pretty standard. They seemed to really focus on live feedback, and they kept mentioning that in every round. It ended up being a bit of a turn-off and felt kind of toxic.
- Tell me about a campaign you've seen in the real world that inspires you.
Graphic Designer
So, there were three rounds in total. I chatted with the E-Commerce director, then HR, and finally the VP of Marketing. Everyone was really nice and professional. I got to the last stage, which involved a test project. It wasn't anything crazy or exploitative. Ultimately, I didn't get the offer, but hey, I do some freelance work for them now!
- Design a mood board for a forthcoming product launch.
- Create an advertisement mockup for an upcoming launch.
