Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

The interview process was pretty standard. There were 3 rounds in total, with the final one being with the CEO and the director I would be reporting to. The main goal seemed to be for me to convince them why I wanted to join their company. They didn't really talk about benefits or work culture, and I had to actively ask the panel about those things. They often came across as uninterested, but surprisingly, they'd still call back a month later. The last interview involved the CEO in her hotel room, pacing around, and she asked me to introduce myself. She seemed disengaged, so after about 5 minutes, I just stopped talking. This company has impressive clients and projects, which seems to contribute to their ego. If you're looking to work in such an environment, this might be it, but I doubt most people would find it enjoyable. I didn't even bother following up because the company culture seems indifferent to its employees. It was also concerning that by the third round, salary details were still not disclosed. A major red flag was their response to my question about performance management: they suggested that employees should resolve performance issues by talking amongst themselves at work.

I interviewed twice with Studio K. I was very interested in the part time Samples Librarian position and they were interested in me enough to waste my time with two interviews. While the interviews were standard and unremarkable they made no effort to follow up after I spent my time and money to show up, print a new portfolio and prepare for both interviews. After the second interview I never heard from them again. Do not expect any professional courtesy from them. If this is how they treat their interviewees imagine how they treat their employees! Do better.

I had a lengthy conversation, about 2 hours, with both of the partners. It was a pretty relaxed chat which made the experience nice. Following that initial meeting, they invited me to come back and meet the rest of the team to see if I'd be a good fit.

The process was pretty easy. It was just one round with the owner and their main manager/hr. We talked for about 40 minutes over zoom about my projects and responsibilities, and what I knew about their firm.
