First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Studio/Gang Architects.
Designer
I talked with 3 people, 2 from Chicago and 1 from New York. They asked a lot of design questions about my school and work projects. They seemed more into my design thinking than my technical skills. They didn't answer my questions about the company and didn't leave much time for me to ask things. They mostly talked amongst themselves about my projects and interrupted me a lot to ask questions. I didn't like the vibe or the conversation.
- Could you present some of your portfolio projects?
- Tell me about an academic project you worked on.
Software Engineer
For the software engineer role, there was a technical screen which included some coding questions.
- Which of the following tools is mainly used to Sundlending application? A. Webpack B. Babel C. ESLint D. Axios
- In HTML5, what element is used to group other code without adding any extra meaning?
Architect
The entire interview process was conducted via video calls, split into two distinct sessions. The initial interview involved one interviewer, followed by a subsequent interview with a few more individuals, who appeared to be in higher positions. We discussed my portfolio and relevant work experience. The interviewers were friendly and responded promptly.
- Could you walk me through some of your recent projects?
Intern
I applied for the summer internship through the studio gang website. After about 10-15 days, I got an email for an interview. The hiring team interviewed me virtually using Microsoft Teams. The process was organized.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Could you explain your favorite project from your portfolio?
