Usually, companies using SHL-style tests have a structured, multi-step process to see if you have the right aptitude, skills, and fit for their culture. The exact order can differ, but this is what typically happens: First, you apply online, sending in your resume and basic info. Then, HR screens your application to see if you meet the basic requirements like education, GPA, and skills. After that, you'll likely get a link to do online assessments, which are usually SHL tests. These tests check your cognitive abilities (like numerical, verbal, logical, or inductive reasoning). Sometimes they also include a personality questionnaire to gauge your behavior and cultural fit, and a Situational Judgment Test (SJT) to see how you'd make decisions in work situations.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The first interview is with a mid-level manager and it's pretty chill. It's about half an hour on campus. They want to get to know you, tell you about the program, and see if you're good for round two. If you move on, they'll give you contact info for three past interns and you gotta call them to ask three questions. Heads up: the managers talk to these former interns for feedback, so make sure your phone skills are on point and you have good questions ready. You can totally call your first interviewer if you need advice, they wanna help you succeed. Round two is with upper management, maybe one-on-one or two-on-one. Think of it less like a normal interview and more like a chance to really sell yourself to VPs or maybe even the owner. They'll still ask regular questions, but the main goal is for you to explain why you're a great match and what you'll contribute. It's a really awesome internship, good luck!

Behavioral

Applied. Got called for an interview. Had one interview with a state manager. It was a really standard interview with behavioral and situational questions. They're basically trying to see if you can lead people, so they're judging your leadership qualities, attributes, and experiences. They want to know if you have the smarts and drive to run your own painting branch or business. Make sure you have some stories ready where you took charge of a situation. You don't really need any special past experiences. They like people who were involved in sports and leaders in clubs. They value people who take initiative.

Behavioral Technical

I had an initial call out meeting that was very casual. Then, a professional 1-on-1 interview that felt pretty typical. After that, there was a phone interview. They were always really nice and not too strict about a format, but they basically covered the general strengths/weaknesses and tell me about yourself guidelines. I heard back quickly and moved through the process. There were a lot of mandatory meetings for training and stuff that they didn't specifically tell me about beforehand. Throughout the process, a lot of things kind of got sprung on me as a branch manager that I found to be sneaky and schemey, but ultimately it made me a lot more confident with business.
