First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at STS Technical Services.
Network Engineer
First, there was a screen by the recruiting firm. Then, resume and reference clearance by HR. After that, there were technical and manager rounds. Finally, 3 engineers asked questions related to their respective technical areas.
- Can you describe the traffic flow from Layer 1 to Layer 3, both at the frame and packet level?
MRAP Mechanic
The recruiter gave me a call and asked me about my background and what the job entailed. Then, someone else from the company called to discuss the role further. After our conversation, the recruiter reached out again with a job offer.
- Can you describe your most recent work experience?
Aircraft Maintenance Planner
This job agency Carbon60 applied for me without my consent. The agent mentioned that the company was interested in my CV and gave me less than 24 hours to prepare for an online meeting. The agent said STS Aviation Service would see if there were any suitable positions for me. The online meeting started fine until they asked why I was applying for the Aircraft Maintenance Planner role. It turns out Carbon60 set me up for a commission. I stayed professional and finished the interview. The interviewer mentioned they would only offer £32k annually as a starting salary and dismissed my 12 years of aircraft maintenance experience (with license) as worthless. I was ghosted after the interview.
- Could you tell me about aircraft parts?
- What are the ATA chapters for aircraft systems?
- Where are the aircraft engines located?
Recruiter
Overall the interview experience was great. It was over teams and lasted about 30-45 mins. The hiring manager did most of the talking explaining the company and then the role and finally what they were looking for. He asked a few questions and I felt very comfortable. It was not stressful but the questions he asked were great and truly made me think.
- Can you describe Boolean searches and explain how you would use them with a resume example?
