Striim HR Chrislyn Benitta Johnson reached out about a Senior DevOps Engineer role. After that, I had a few rounds of Technical Discussions with an Interview Panel. The entire process, from scheduling to the HR chat, took about 2 weeks, and then I got the offer. I was very pleased with how the recruitment went. Great job by the HR team.

Chrislyn from HR got in touch about the job. She walked me through the interview steps, which involve a few rounds to check skills and how I'd fit. The whole thing took about two weeks. The process includes: a coding test, a system design assessment, and then a couple of rounds focusing on technical and managerial aspects.

The interview process in Chennai had 4 rounds. It started with a HackerRank QA test and 3 programming questions, followed by a technical high-level interview, then another HackerEarth QA round. The final round was a face-to-face manager interview. All questions were pretty standard, not too hard. During the manager round, they asked about my expected CTC. If you try to negotiate, they'll push for a specific number from you, and that's what determines your offer. I didn't get any updates or emails from HR about feedback after the 4 rounds. When I followed up, they claimed they had emailed, but I never received anything.

Technical Presentation

HR reached out because the hiring manager found my profile online. The HR person wasn't super informed about the company or the role, and spent more time discussing their own startup experiences. There was a significant lack of coordination internally; I'd get asked the same questions by different people or have to update everyone individually. For the technical round, they suggested setting up a marketplace image on a cloud trial (GCP/Azure, etc.). Make sure you have enough trial credits to avoid paying yourself! Interestingly, they sometimes included people who would be your direct reports in the final interview round. It was fun experimenting with the product to get the demo ready, and it actually worked. Ultimately, I was informed that the company was shifting focus for the team this role was for, so they wouldn't be hiring. It felt like a bit of a time sink.
