First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Strayer University.
Student Services Coach
I had an interview with the HR recruiter, then met with three leaders who work there, and finally had a third interview with the hiring manager. It seemed like a lot for an entry level job that was described as being like a call center.
- Which applications have you used at your old jobs?
Admissions Representative
I applied online and got an assessment email. Then, the recruiter messaged me on Indeed about salary and the hybrid setup. After I responded, I got an email for a phone interview with the recruiter. The questions were situational, not too tough. She seemed happy and said she was recommending me to move on. I then got a Teams invite for a meeting with three leaders. This interview was super chill and felt like a chat. They emphasized teamwork and integrity a lot. The next day, the recruiter messaged again to meet the VP and director, which was really informal and brief. A few days later, I got a tentative offer and they started my background and reference checks. The day after that, I got the official offer letter and I'm set to start soon. The whole thing took about 2-3 weeks.
- Can you describe how you handle different situations?
Admissions Officer
The interview process is handled very professionally! First you apply, then if your qualifications meet the needs of the company, you are contacted by HR-Recruiting who will do a pre-screen interview (usually over the phone) where YOU will have the chance to be sure the position is right for you. If you and Recruiting agree its a good match, you are referred to the hiring manager for further interview process. This could be a simple one-on-one or a full-smash two/three-stage panel interview (depends on the position). Once that is completed, if you are selected you are notified by HR-Recruiting and officially offered the position. Its amazing!

Academic Services Administrator
After applying, I had a brief 15-minute phone chat. Then, the next day, I was invited for an in-person interview on campus with a regional rep. She just asked me 3 behavioral questions from her laptop and didn't seem very engaged. When I asked about how long people typically stay, she gave a weird answer about it being a legal issue, which struck me as odd.
