Great interview process. The discussion with the onsite folks was really good. Good overall process. There were 3-4 rounds in total. The technical rounds were medium difficulty, focusing on in-depth knowledge of JavaScript and some coding challenges.

I applied online. The recruiter called me during my work hours and asked me to call her back. I did, and she asked for a few moments - she then was late calling me back. Awkward considering I'm already taking time out of my busy workday. Anyway we set up time for a longer conversation the next day, and she was late calling me for that appointment too! We spoke about my experience, and it turns out the actual position I applied for was already offered, so we discussed other opportunities, which was very encouraging. She let me know to expect follow up the next week. Two weeks go by and I don't hear anything, so I reached out via email, no reply. I tried again two weeks later and still, no reply. So, basically as another poster on here said, this unprofessional recruiter ghosted me. At least let me know if I'm not a fit for the position when I reach out. Don't waste your time because you may never hear back!

I met the hiring manager first, then some of the team members. Two days later, I had a follow-up meeting with the hiring manager, and then he gave me an offer of $105,000 per year. I later found out this salary was quite high for Stratus. Stratus isn't a very forward-thinking company. My initial impression of the staff as 'fossils' turned out to be accurate as I continued working there. The company lacked direction, energy, and capable leaders; the leadership was downright awful. I even met the CEO and wasn't impressed at all. I wouldn't suggest Stratus to anyone looking for a dynamic environment with career growth. An employee described Stratus as 'fly paper' – once you join, you're stuck, which was true for him after over 10 years there.

Technical Presentation

I applied in September 2014 and waited a couple of weeks for a response. Then, they reached out asking about salary expectations and my availability. I had a good phone screen with HR. After that, I went through a tough online interview. This was followed by in-person interviews, which felt about right for a management role. They told me I had to come in again, but then I waited for weeks. It wasn't until November that I found out I didn't get the job. The whole hiring process felt broken, and in this market, they should be quicker and more upfront with people.
