& Process

It was a really long process with a lot of people interviewing me, sometimes all at once and sometimes one-on-one. Some interviewers didn't seem to know much about the actual job I was applying for. HR was super positive about the company and the role, but once you get the job, it's pretty different. You get to talk to a lot of different folks, though, from the campus level all the way up to corporate.

I applied online and was contacted by an internal recruiter via email to discuss relocation. We then had a phone interview, which I felt went well. The recruiter then set up a 1:1 video interview with a senior person, telling me I'd make them look good. This first video interview was about 90 minutes and seemed to go well, and I thought I might be the only candidate. Next, I had a second video interview with the COO. This one was rough; the video cut out halfway through, so we finished by phone, making it hard to gauge his reactions. He was vague and seemed hesitant to answer my questions, especially about management's reputation given the negative employee reviews I'd seen on Glassdoor about the President and others. Afterward, I got a standard rejection email.

It was a mid-level role and lasted about 30 minutes across two stages. The first stage was with HR and assistant managers, and the second was with the Unit Manager. They asked questions about my skills, passion, and attitude towards work. It felt like they focused more on my personality than my answers; I felt like I was being studied.

It was a standard 3-part application, phone, and interview process with typical questions. I interviewed in front of a panel of 2 or 3 people. They asked basic interview questions that you can find online to practice answering. Your answers should be based on your own experiences and perspective.
