First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Strategic Factory.
Graphic Designer
I met someone at a Baltimore Business Journal event who worked at Strategic Factory. When it came time for me to find a new job, I saw they were hiring and name-dropped the woman I met at the event. I got a response back the next day for a phone interview, then had an in person interview a week later. Though I applied for the Graphic Designer position, they had recently filled it, but saw that my skills could be used for some of their other open positions.
- What are your weaknesses?
- What kind of people do you dislike working with?
Social Media Specialist
The interview process was long and unorganized, making me feel uncomfortable. I had multiple interviews without any clear communication about the purpose. They had me come in several times to interview with different, random people, which was confusing. Some interviewers seemed disinterested, being on their phones during the interview. Additionally, I encountered some 'creepy men' who interviewed me at one point.
- Could you tell me about your relevant experience?
Administrative Assistant
Since I lived out of state, the interview process was done in a few steps. First, HR reached out and did a phone screen with me. At the end of the call, she invited me for an in-person interview, and it took about a week to get a set date and time. I drove about 2.5 hours for it, and was able to meet with several people throughout the day to limit my trips. I met with the owner & CEO, production director, VP of Sales and Business Development, and the recruiter from HR in about 2 hours and also got a tour of the facility. Even though everyone was busy, they were welcoming and asked thorough questions. The recruiter called me back that same day to schedule a follow-up on my next trip to town. During this next trip, I got a verbal offer for the position and responsibilities, and then HR sent a written offer about 2 days later with salary, benefits, etc.
- Can you describe a typical day in your current job?
- What would your ideal job entail?
- What is your reason for leaving your current employer?
Production Assistant
So I was interviewed for a Production Assistant role, and they did hire me and offered me a salary. They mentioned in an email that they were gonna reevaluate my position and pay after 90 days, hoping to put me in charge of a team. But that never happened.
- What was your previous salary?
