First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Strategic Capacity Group.
Program Officer
The interview process started with an initial chat with HR, then a meeting with the leadership team, and finally a conversation with the president. However, some information about the work conditions or benefits was either not accurate or changed soon after I was hired. The interviews themselves were all pretty friendly and casual. It felt like the company culture and environment weren't really captured accurately, possibly because the whole panel was made up of senior folks.
- How would you handle a situation where an overseas event encounters a problem, such as a trainer being delayed during travel and arriving late?
Project Assistant
I interviewed for a summer internship and ended up being offered a full-time job. The interview was pretty standard and friendly, done over FaceTime. There was a bit of a wait for email communication regarding the interview time, but it didn't really disrupt things.
- Could you share some of your strengths and weaknesses?
Project Officer
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. It included a mix of scenario-based and skill/experience questions. One favorite was having to problem-solve a printer crisis in the field. Since this is a new organization, the interview questions aren't standardized yet, and there are at least two interviews. A big part of the hiring decision is a writing sample that the president reviews personally. Make sure you pick a sample that really shows you can write clearly and without unnecessary words.
- What skill do you have that you think would be the most beneficial for our organization?
