Applied online and got a call from a senior SETA for an initial chat. They seemed to think I was a good fit and were in a rush to fill the spot. They said they'd be in touch to set up a meet and greet with the company and client the next week. A week passed, I followed up, and they said they'd sent my CV to the client. A month later, they asked if I was still interested, so I said sure, why not. Scheduling the in-person took another two weeks. The interviews with the contracting people went fine, talking about working with the client. But the client interview was super awkward, like he didn't want me there. I had to start talking about myself after a long silence. They said I was the first person they interviewed for the job, which was surprising given how long it had taken, and they only had one other candidate who wasn't a good match. No follow-up after I chased HR, just a basic "the PM enjoyed meeting you, I'll let you know." It was a frustrating and unprofessional experience.
